In this combined class at YouAct, CrossFit Powerlifting and CrossFit Strongman come together. Two strength sports each with their own character, but with one common goal: to become functionally stronger. By combining these training forms you not only develop maximum strength, but you also learn to use that strength in a practical and versatile way.

Powerlifting: strong foundation and confidence in technique
The powerlifting portion of the class focuses on controlled, heavy elevators such as the back squat, deadlift and bench press. These exercises are less technical than Olympic weightlifting and require relatively little flexibility, making them accessible to many athletes.
In addition to the three competitive exercises, you’ll work with a variety of barbells, elastic bands, chains, dumbbells and kettlebells. The variety is wide and the focus is on improving technique, strength and neuromuscular control. You will learn to move heavy weights safely and efficiently, with personalized guidance and adjustments to your level.
Powerlifting is not about getting as big as possible; it’s about getting stronger. By training your nervous system, you learn to engage more muscle fibers at once, allowing you to build a lot of strength without necessarily gaining a lot of muscle mass.
Strongman: applying strength in motion
In the Strongman section, you’re going to apply that accumulated strength. Think about lifting, carrying, pulling and moving awkward objects such as sandbags, rocks, sleds or farmers carries. Strongman is known as “the strongest man training,” but within YouAct it is suitable for any level. The weights are scalable, the objects remain challenging.
Strongman workouts combine strength with explosiveness and fitness. Short, intense efforts increase your heart rate and make the workout physically and mentally challenging. You not only train muscles, but also grip strength, core stability and endurance.
